3DtoMe supports uploading 3D content from CAD file formats such as .GLB, .USDZ and .OBJ. Zip folders and other file types will not import.
To provide the best experience for your audience, we recommend to optimize your 3D models before uploading them to 3DtoMe. This includes reducing the number of polygons, optimizing textures, and ensuring the model is correctly oriented. If you need optimization on your 3D models you can also use our 3D optimization feature.
When choosing which models to use, it is important to pay attention to the following properties of the models.
3DtoMe imports only .OBJ, .USDZ and .GLB files. So we recommend sourcing files which are available in these formats.
3DtoMe does not have a file size limit for importing models but be sure to keep the file size as small as possible to ensure the best performance. If too large, consider optimizing the file before uploading it to 3DtoMe or use our AI optimization feature.
We recommend sourcing files which are below 200,000 polygons and 50 objects or sub-objects per projects. If files are higher than these limits, they may still be imported into 3DtoMe, however you won't achieve best performance in all viewers and devices.
After importing a model, you can check the polygon count and object count in it's properties on the 3DtoMe interface.
3D file sites have models with varying levels of complexity. Some of these may include UVMapped models and custom textures that can be applied to your models. Make sure to check the model's properties to see if it includes textures and colors.
