How do I protect my embedded model?

Set a list of allowed domains. In the web viewer, open a project you own, click Share, choose Embed and type your domains in the Allowed domains field of the Security box. Click Save. In 3DtoMe for macOS, add the domains in the Security section.

What happens if I leave Allowed domains empty?

An empty list allows any website to embed the project.

Does Allowed domains protect the direct link and the QR code?

No. The list applies to embeds only. To limit who can open the link or the QR code, turn off Anyone with the link can view or set a password.

Protect your embedded model

Anyone can copy an embed code from your web page. With an allowed domains list, the embed loads only on the websites you name. The list needs the Pro plan.

In the web viewer

Sign in at viewer.3dto.me and open a project you own.
Click Share in the top right corner.
Choose Embed.
In the Security box, type your domains in the Allowed domains field, for example example.com, app.example.com.
Click Save. The button shows "Saved" for a moment.

Separate domains with commas, spaces or new lines.
Leave the field empty to allow any website.
The field appears only when you choose Embed.

In 3DtoMe for macOS

Open the 3DtoMe for macOS app and select the model you want to protect.
In the right panel of the app, find the Security section.
Enter the domains you want to allow to embed your model.
Save the changes.
Click the Share icon.
Copy the embed code and paste it into your website's HTML code.

Other ways to limit access

Allowed domains controls where the embed can appear. It doesn't stop people from opening the direct link. The Share window has two more controls:

Turn off Anyone with the link can view to close the link, the QR code and the embed for everyone except you.
Turn on Password protected to ask every visitor for a password, including inside the embed. Password protection needs the Corporate plan.
